I Forgot My Password — What Should I Do?
Use the password-reset link in the sign-in area. You enter the email your account is registered under, clear a reCAPTCHA, and EduSum sends a reset link to that address; you open it and set a new password, which has to clear the same strength requirements EduSum applied when you signed up. Once it is saved you sign in with it as normal — nothing else on the account changes.
The flow is deliberately short, and it runs entirely through the email address on file rather than any secret you have to remember or recite:
- Start from sign-in: choose the forgotten-password option where you would normally log in
- Enter your email and clear the reCAPTCHA: the same human check the signup form uses guards the reset form too
- Open the emailed link: the reset is delivered as a link to your registered address
- Set a new password: it has to satisfy the strength requirements your original password met
Why Your Email Proves the IT Account Is Yours
The reset leans on what a security exam calls the possession factor. Your password is something you know; access to your registered inbox is something you have. When you have forgotten the first, the second stands in — delivering the reset only to the address on file means whoever controls that mailbox is treated as the account holder, and no one who cannot open it can complete the change. That is why the link goes to your email rather than showing a new password on screen, and why keeping that email address current matters.
A Reset Leaves Your IT Exam Progress Intact
A reset changes only the password. Your account, your purchased Premium, and your attempt history are untouched by it — the reset re-opens the door, it does not clear the room.
