On a Premium sitting, yes — you can leave and come back, and the attempt is held for a few days and restores at the next unanswered item. On the free Demo, no: a Demo runs start to finish in one go. But there is a catch on Premium worth understanding before you rely on it.
The catch is the clock. When you resume a Premium sitting, the timer is reset to its full length rather than to the few minutes that remained when you stepped away. The attempt is preserved; the pacing pressure is not. That single fact is the honest reason to treat a resume as a fallback, not a study habit.
What Resuming Does to an IT Exam Sitting
A full sitting rehearses two things at once: the reasoning and the pacing. Take an item that hands you the report from a malware sample detonated in a sandbox — the processes it spawned, the registry keys it touched, the domains it beaconed to — and asks which behavior most indicates it is ransomware rather than a credential stealer. Deciding that under a shrinking clock, with the rest of the paper still stacked up behind it, is the skill the exam grades. Resume the sitting on a fresh full-length timer and you can still practice the reasoning, but you are no longer rehearsing that decision against real time pressure — the clock has been quietly handed back to you. So a resumed sitting stops being a valid rehearsal of pacing, which is why an unbroken run is worth planning for: set aside the time a full sitting needs and take it in one pass.
Going Back Within an IT Exam Sitting
Leaving and resuming a sitting should not be confused with moving around inside one. Within a live sitting — Demo or Premium — you can navigate backward and forward with Back and Next to revisit an item and change an answer before you submit, exactly as the real paper often allows. That is revising an attempt you are still in the middle of, with the clock still running; it is not pausing time or picking up on another day. Reviewing your own answers before you commit the whole set is part of a normal sitting; stepping away and coming back is the thing that resets the timer.
So revise freely within a sitting on either tier, and resume a Premium sitting across days if you truly must — but because the timer comes back full, plan to sit each run unbroken whenever you want the pacing rehearsal to count.
